It's a pity that we do not have female composites of both the ethnicities...
How many samples were these composites formed from?

Italians, Sicilians, Turks, and Cypriots. That's where the Greeks historically have a strong presence, and it's evident in the outward appearance of those populations to varying degrees.

Mostly Peloponnese Greeks were the ones who colonized.

Even during the Byzantine Empire? I'm pretty sure that's the time period in which the Greeks would have had the most presence in Anatolia.

Anatolian colonies in Greece would have come from the Peloponnese or the islands.

Greeks had collonies all around the Black sea too. If Sicilians or South Italians look like Greeks it's because they are their geographic neighbors, not because they were colonized by them.

Also Turks have significant Asiatic types influence (Armenoid, Asian Alpinid, Iranid and Mongoliform) which is virtually absent in Greeks.

I wonder, did the native Anatolians (Hittites?) resemble Greeks, or did they have a phenotype that is still evident in modern Turkey...

Anyone got an idea about this?
