    Yep most of the Icelandic maternal line (2/3) can be traced all the way to northern Scotland and various parts of Ireland.

    So what just because a Spaniard might resemble the Welsh, does not mean that they closely related. What crap is that?

    Wales = 45% blue-eyed, 11% red-haired, at least 38% are carriers of red hair genes, R1b-L21 Y-haplogroup subclade is most common.
    Spain = 11.75% blue-eyed, more or less 1% red-haired, R1b-DF27 Y-haplogroup subclade is the most common.

    IDK how people vote, but Welsh people fit better in Switzerland than in Southern Europe. Compare with the Portuguese national team.

    The Scottish, Irish, English, North-West French ( obviously The Bretons) and Western Germans. The Welsh are stereotyped for darker hair, but are not so different from most other Britons. Wales might score darker than most North/East English regions due to less Anglo-Saxon/Viking lineages. However, Wales for sure is one of the most ginger regions in Britain.
