In March and April 1990, more than 7,000 Albanian school children needed medical treatment with signs of spasms in the stomach and limbs, vertigo, reddening of ears, vomiting, shivering, etc.

Moreover the Serbian police prevented the children from entering hospitals and persecuted Albanian doctors who helped them.

Foreign experts (e.g. Bernard Benedetti of Medicins du Monde), based on the results from blood analysises, established that the children had been poisoned with nerve gases.

The number of cases arouse to more than 7,000 Albanian teenagers and children, who were admitted to hospitals in Kosovo complaining of a mysterious illness.

This vile and unthinkable act of Serbian Secret Security still goes internationally unpunished.

For the first time hard evidence were put forth in the symposium organized in Zagreb, on 9 June 1990, especially for this event. In the project of prof. Franjo Plavsic, was found and made public the use of a toxic substance called Dimethyl-Phosphoditionate.

This substance had been found in the test tubes with urine samples of poisoned children.

The wave of poisonings caught hundreds of Albanian pupils and students in Kosovo and northeastern city of Kumanovo in 1990-1991. The event followed a pattern that has been used for over 20 years by the Serbs against Albanian youth in Kosovo and Macedonia.
