Alexander was awful. I haven't seen Troy. But how is 300 pissing on Greek mythology and history? It was a good movie and the Spartans were portrayed as brave and skilled warriors.

300 was a comic book parody of History, not a vaguely historical movie. The fact that Spartans were portrayed in a positive way has nothing to do with its accuracy...

All I got from that movie was interesting Greek jokes. Friends say things like:

The Thor comics are utter and complete crap. If they really want a viking comic movie in Hollywood, base it on Northlanders. IMO one of the best ... oh wait, scrap that ... the only decent ... commercial comics ever about the Vikings.

It was based on a graphic novel. It wasn't meant to be completely historically accurate in every way.

Black Hawk Down wasn't completely historically accurate, but it wasn't pissing on America's military.
