If you have something something valuable, you don't leave it among other people. You lock it up in a safe place.

So if a man values his woman he locks her up in his house so he's the only one that can have access to her.

I can understand why some people would want to convert to Islam. And I think the reason why women are more is because women are more open to other opinions.

I can understand that some people might feel disillusioned with "Western" civilisation. Some people may feel that today our lives are rather wishy-washy with no real substance anymore and that a religion like Islam can provide these guidelines. Some people feel more comfortable with "structure" than others. I think the hijab is also important because it makes them feel like the belong somewhere special.

On the other hand I question people who so easily "convert" from one religion to another. You also get the denomination hoppers in Christianity who suddenly change from Baptist to Catholic in the blink of an eye because the Baptist minister pissed them off. I feel that you cannot just change what you are all of a sudden. And while a inter-denominational change is hard, converting to a religion which actually has nothing in common with your current one is even harder.

Given, Christianity and Islam are Abrahamic (am I saying this right?) religions but there are some MAJOR differences between the two. I can only see someone leaving one for the other because of a feeling of disillusionment and hoping that the other can provide something which the current one doesn't. This goes for Christians becoming Muslim, and Muslims becoming Christians, or shunning Islam entirely.
