She sounds like she is speaking a Scandinavian language.

It's too bad the language of the Shetlands, Norn, died out, though.

I managed to understand about 3/4 of it. Is this the most difficult accent in Scotland to understand, Fionnlagh?

All of them are easy to me, but people outside of Scotland struggle with the glasweigan accent (speak through the nose). Fife can be funny, daughter and doctor can sound the same a've noticed. Edinburgh can be well spoken, but then ye've got Leith and other rough areas there. There's quite a few small variations in places.

Try Doric, that is no fun Shetland is easy enough, but then I came across plenty of them at uni. Glaswegian I dislike intensely and that probably hinders my attempts at understanding them.

Would you be able to write phonetically 'daughter' and 'doctor' for me?

Scotland is bad ass. What are some other Scottish dialects and where are they spoken? I´ve always wanted to visit the Shetland Islands.
