Yngvars saga víðförla, some years ago was not very accepted, but important archaeological studies done on, in recent years, it has gained more acceptance.

The saga describes what was the last Viking campaign in the Caspian in 1041. This expedition was launched from Sweden by Ingvar the Far-Travelled (Ingvar den vittfarne), who went into the land of the Saracens (Serkland).

There are many Ingvar Runestones raised in commemoration warriors who died in the raid, mostly in the Lake Mälaren region of Uppland in Sweden.

Here a nice link in english from the Northvegr foundation, for those who are interested about it.
