Of course they don't all look southeastern.. as I've also said you have people with a more northern appearance and what have you.

But saying that southeastern Europe (and yes for the purpose of genetics and ancestry, Southern Italy counts) has more Neolithic ancestry than southwestern Europe and this is of a West Asian origin, is not propaganda or a lie. And for the fact of the matter some Levantines do look kind of European. There is nothing wrong with this. Either way I do not have it in me to argue so let's just agree to disagree and drop it.

And ask any other Italian here and they will tell you I have a typical southern Italian appearance, so whatever people think I look, is generally reflective of much of the population.

Notice they are not the same color as Iberians and French.. so they are their own cluster on that map.. West Med is just the name given to it, but the map does not group them with other Southwestern Europeans. Take that into consideration when reading the chart.

I think we are an indipendent people, different from both Iberians and South-Eastern Europeans. S.Italians overlap with Levantines who lack massive amount of African - S.Asian alleles (coastal Lebanese, few Syrians,...)

Italians as a whole.. but whether you like it or not from a genetic point of view, people like the Sicilians and Calabrese are a Southeastern European people and are not related genetically to Southwestern Europeans like the southern French and the Spanish, for instance. You are the only one having difficulty grasping this. For someone who herself looks more southeastern European than southwestern, your level of denial is shocking.

S.Italians' Adna correlates with their geographic position : halfway between Anatolia and Iberia. North-Central Italians are S.Italians with more French admixture IMHO.

I would also like to add Arabs to the list. I see the Maltese people as a mixture of all those etnicities I ticked. Although I believe most of them are in majority European by DNA.
