I think it is arrogance not to think there can't be anyone from outer space in this huge universe.

I think life isn't even as rare as we're led to believe. Geologists neither rule out the possibility that Mars started as a fertile planet like the Earth and that primitive life used to live there, but that the evolutionary process was halted there once Mars lost much of its gravitational field and atmosphere. In this hypothesis it was supposed to have happened before 3 Ga when on Earth there was also only one-cellular life (multi-cellular life likely 'only' exists for a billion years). Problem is: Mars is a planet lots of research still has to be done on, we know quite little. We don't even know everything of our own planet Earth yet.

I guess there are also many solar systems where there's not only one, but even more planets with life on. Some are probably even colonised by intelligent species of one planet. Our solar system sadly has only one fertile planet (and luckily it won't share the fate of Mars). However, I sadly doubt it would ever become a possibility to travel beyond a solar system. I hope it would become possible one day, but as the closest star (Proxima Centauri) is 4.2 light years away from us, it's the question whether it would ever be possible (good luck in reaching it; knowing nothing can travel at the speed of light. Bending space-time to bypass it? How?).

As for people voting: "we are the only ones." Hahaha.

Definitely we are not alone, last week I have seen very strange "lights", near a volcano in my city. Pretty cool (no airplanes). I was very unbeliever but actually I am starting to think different.
