Student defends criticism of Obama after being berated by teacher

The teacher later said: "Do you realize that people were arrested for saying things bad about Bush?"
The student told the teacher that someone can't be arrested "unless you threaten the president."
The Salisbury Post reported Monday that district school officials suspended the teacher in the course of their investigation into the incident.
Rogers' mother Gina told Fox News she was "shocked" when she heard the tape. She said her son had told stories about the classroom arguments, but she didn't realize they were this "extreme."
"I don't feel the teacher should have started a political discussion if she wasn't willing to hear both sides," she said.
The school system said in a statement that it "expects all students and employees to be respectful in the school environment and for all teachers to maintain their professionalism in the classroom."

If people were "arrested for saying bad things about Bush," the entire Democratic Party leadership would be getting ass-probed at Gitmo as we speak.

The teaching establishment, among other academic niches, at least in the US, is dominated by leftist moonbats such as this. I recall many times when we were prodded by our teachers to ponder world poverty and how to end it and other useless drivel. We had to dress as Indians and Pilgrims at Thanksgiving and we were told of the naughty things the Pilgrims did.

I'd assume she's black by the prosody of her voice. What language should we be educated in? Certainly not Ebonics.

I hope she isn't a history teacher with the inaccuracies riddled in her argument, and the method of indoctrination she uses. She glorifies the president as if he's a ruler not an elected political official. Certainly there are many more qualified, unbiased, educated individuals capable of logically determining a conclusion and capable of recognizing slander from harmless opinion than her. She is neither knowledgeable nor seemingly intelligent. I hear of the high unemployment rate among teachers, and I cringe when I hear of somebody so under-qualified taking the position of much more educated and intelligent individuals to inform students of whatever they must be informed about without a bias. I know students in high school with a better education and who are by far more intelligent than what this teacher exemplifies. In fact, if politics were my specialty, I'd even go as far as say I can teach better.

If she was my teacher, I would not take anything she said seriously. Firstly, she is yelling the whole time. How can I learn anything if she's yelling? Secondly, she is disregarding any form of criticism, because of a title that has a degree of power. Maybe it's my poor understanding of the need for social hierarchies, but certainly a normal person can't have such an inherent privilege over others, in a democratic republic due to a title, or at least we've been taught. Somebody with the title of president is free from criticism? Arrest us all! I wonder, would she be so adamant about this if Obama wasn't a mulatto? Probably, "he deserves the respect of all other presidents" gives us the answer to that.

I always wondered though, what would it be like to have a black(or any non-white) teacher? Every single one of my teachers has been white. I remember up until the fourth grade, every teacher of mine was a white woman. I used to think that only white women could become teachers, lol.

A teacher is now suspended with pay after audio was found of her yelling at a student for criticizing President Obama. It all began in the classroom when the topic of the day was a discussion regarding GOP contender Mitt Romney being a bully in high school. When the student challenged the teacher, the audio reveals she began yelling at him.

The student involved in that incident, Hunter Rogers, and his mother, Gina Rogers, spoke out about this matter on today’s Fox and Friends.
