Perception of Skin Tone Light Skin vs. Dark Skin

I just did a small research and found there is a preference for Light Skin across the Cultures. Even among African Americans and African Culture there is a Light and Dark Divide, Light skin is seen as beautiful and the darker are jealous. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discrim..._Color_Paradox

However there is an example where dark skin is the epitome of beauty, In the Mahabharata, the character known as Krishna was of dark complexion but was an epitome of beauty. The incarnation of Vishnu, Krishna himself (widely revered by Vaishnavites), was said to be "as black as a full raincloud".

... Do you find Light or Dark Skin more beautiful? And any Thoughts?

Well not in Romania,no one cares here about how white your skin is or not.
RRoma here are seen by different facts than skin color.
Because there are romanians with darker skin,but they are not rroma.
