Considering the geographic localisation of most sub-nordid populations (northern France, Southern Germany, Switzerland), I think that it is actually more by a keltic than proper Halstatt nordid influence that the nordic features are introduced into Sub-nordid. Still there are no "hard rules", as we can see mixtures with more or less dinarid (keltic) or more gracile (halstatt) traits.

For instance, I consider myself a sub-nordid with Norid-Keltic influence for the following reasons ( some may disagree ) :

- Norid / Keltic : long, slightly convex nose, but not picking downward, rather receding forehead, fair pigmentation, tall size ( 1m93 )
- Alpine : Rather roundish traits ( not as much as pure alpine ), probably brachycephalic index ( but my occiput is not as flat as some dinarid examples ), not quite as fair pigmented as pure nordid invidividuals.

We're from North-Eastern France ( Alsace-Lorraine ), which is very german influenced and where alpine and nordic tendencies are prevalent, but also keltic and norid.

It would also be interesting to ponder about the idea that Sub-nordid may also be formed by a mixture of fair skinned borreby / alpine and more neomorphic atlantid to med individuals, instead of halstatt nordid.

LOL I always thought it was because alpines are generally found in central europe where as nordids are found in northern europe.
