It's not enough to be proud of your ancestry. Live up to it.

Hail to You

I should add "...and prove you are worthy to carry the name of your ancestors".
“The truth is lived, not taught."Void aka DusanTabiti is just a paranoid Bulgarian who clearly has an agenda

I find it kind of foolish to be proud of something I have not accomplished or acted upon. My actions in no way influenced my ancestors or heritage. I try to become someone that my ancestors would be proud to call their own. I don't think you should be proud of your heritage but rather show reverence.

The way I see it - Everyone is part of a ethnocultural "line" extending from past to present to future. It's one entity, constantly "on the change" but still one. Respect for ancestors should be given equal weight to respect for the future.
Everyone's "purpose of life" is 1) Improving their line so that it is better in the future (keeping the good, dropping away the bad, and adding new good), and 2) Maintaining the integrity of this line so that its viability does not decline under your watch.
The past several generations of Europeans (or, "our leaders" and the weird forces of circumstance) have failed us miserably at both Number-1 and Number-2. Heck, since 1945, even believing the above two precepts should be the animating-impulse of a People is "evil" for any European to do...

Not bad... but mine is better, honestly, and is related to the matter... is in my noble castilian and tries to be hidden.
