    Default Arranged Marriages

Sometimes I wish I was born in a Muslim country, because I am very pro-Arranged Marriage, which is weird for a Westerner, but I think that people waste too much of their lives trying to find the "perfect" person. Many people in Western countries don't get married until their late twenties which means they have already missed their most fertile time for producing children. It's no wonder our birthrates are falling fast. I don't see anything morally wrong with Arranged Marriages whatsoever.

    Discuss.

People in arranged marriages are often miserable, though.

Do you have any proof of that? Love is just a biological reaction.

It just pisses me off how most people in my country spend most of their life and go through several relationships before settling down and marrying someone, and most of those marriages end in less than a decade anyway.

I would love to live in a society where I didn't have to worry about finding a wife. It would be a huge weight off my shoulders.

I have nothing against arranged marriages in the elite and upper layers of society, but it isn't that practical for middle class/workers city dwellers.

There is no need for it.

Elites/Upper class people have luxury of time and money which goes long way to adjusting the life of their child to grow specifically to their tailored needs ie. improving of stance of the House (the child is born to) trough learning specialized skills and intermarrying to on par or stronger Houses.

The Middle/Worker class basically lives from month to month basis. There is no need for such long term planing :/

While in the country arranged marriages were useful for farmers and herders because they ensured continued partnership between two parties ie. trough pooling of resources and stuff like that.

If the two people involved gave consent to have their spouse chosen for them, then I see nothing wrong. My great-grandparents' marriages were arranged.

I guess you're right. But can you understand why I am pro-Arranged Marriage? Or am I just crazy? It would be a huge relief to not have to worry about finding a wife, and it would allow me to spend my life enjoying myself and focusing on other things rather than desperately trying to find someone...

Oh definitely. I'm not suggesting forced marriages at all.

If you don't want to experience falling in love and then moving on to marriage from there, then sure.
