If someone is on a losing streak it is often a downward spiral and it is hard to turn the tide, but it is nevertheless possible with lots of effort and luck
On the other side if someone is floating on a wave of success than this is manifested in the brain and the person gets hard to break - it leads to a kind of winner mentality

I think liberals and communists, at their very inner core, hate this.
They want to eliminate this 'competition' because it is 'unfair' and 'hurts' someone.

Competition is part of the human evolution. A kind of natural selection.
Only the fittest survive like Darwin once said or get rewarded which is more valid in today`s world
There is a reason why sport competions are so extremly popular worldwide. They offer this principle in a compressed easy understanable form.
But competition is a thing which is prevalent in nearly all issues of our society.
