    It's an onomatopeyic sound most likely. I've seen similars "psh-psh" or something.

    actually, it does read like "piss" ...while the (popular) verb for urinating is "piș"...which reads "pish"

    ș = sh sound

    so it's exactly reversed

    Yeah, my grandma and others for instance calls cats " miiisu misuu" with a very sharp/strong 'i' as some cats "miaoo" mi + suu (I don't know why 'suu') I guess calls attention?

    It's the same in Turkish. While kedi is most used word, "pisi" also is used, generally by kids though. For example a kid or someone in Turkey would call a cat by saying "Gel pisi pisi" which would be translated as "Come psh-psh" or something.

    Very distinct except for the 'k' considering they're right next to each other and same region Scandinavia, Lappid influences ? I guess.

    Don't forget how the word 'chatte' is also used for 'pussy' as in 'vageen' in French.
    EDIT: Ouistreham beat me to it, and far more elegantly than I did.
