Default LOL we don't look Armenoid at all!!!

    Selam!

A drawing of some men wearing long robes and fez is not the best way to judge a people. You could try making friends with one of us directly and then you can realize the truth.

If you look through the articles on wikipedia you will notice a mysterious yet well-connected user called Toddy1 who has systematically deleted all accurate information about Karaims and Karaimism from wikipedia. Toddy1's objective is to portray the Karaims of Eastern Europe as a deviant sect of Jews rather than allow any reference to our true Turkic origins. But because there are so few of us in the world, and even fewer who can actually speak English, it is easy to silence us.

Karaims descend from Khazars who had settled in Crimea. Our ancestors are Turks, and studies on our DNA shows mainly Y-DNA Haplogroup R1a (Polovtsi) and EM34 (Seljuk).

Although we are also known as Karaites, we are not to be confused with the so-called Karaite Jews of Egypt (the Wiki picture you offered seems to depict Jews).

Karaims traditionally observed the Customary Old Turkic Tribal laws known as Tura in ancient Turkic and now Tore in modern Turkish. We adopted belief in Christ and Muhammad peace be upon them both, but use a Sidereal calendar which currently starts on the 1st of March on the old Julian Calendar (14th of March on the standard international Gregorian Calendar). Although very few in number now, we are a pious nation, we attend Churches and pray the Our Father every morning.

I hope you found some of this interesting.

Please look for Turanian Karaism on facebook and send a friend request if you would like to know more
