We've been in Afghanistan and Iraq for a decade. It's past time to bring our troops home. They deserve better than to be repeatedly deployed in endless wars. It's likely that we'll just spread our hegemony campaign to Iran, though.
The tendency to glorify anti-intellectualism. Don't get me wrong, there are many things that you can't learn in a book, but common sense doesn't work for heart transplants and building better computers.

Germany and Austria are wonderful and great countries and I wouldn't change my nationalities or my place of residence for all money in the world! There's not much I hate but one thing that bothers me is the ruling political class and the few public media who are indifferent or supportive of the Muslim peril and the cultural and religious relativism endorsed of a part of our society.
