you can everywhere meet such terms like "Celto-Germanic", but I know that Celto-Germanic group doesn't even exist. We have a lot of discussion around the internet and you'll probably find many different sources, and this one is for you https://www.google.com/search?biw=19...05.xcCroS5hnhU

The general opinion says it's Bulgarian and Serbian/Croatian. I have a Czech friend and she told me Czech and Slovak are very similar (Spanish-Portuguese kind of similar). So if you learn Czech, you got Slovak as well.

Go for Serbian, it sounds better than any other Slavic language. You won't have to pay too much to learn it, it's identical to Croat, Montenegrin, Bosnian and very similar to Slovene, Macedonian and Bulgarian. You can go allover eastern Europe pretending that you're a Serb and everybody is going to to treat you well, Serbs are a lot loved in Eastern Europe.

lol not so much in Croatia and Bosnia. Obviously not Albania either. I guess everywhere else is fine.

My mother told me this story some time ago. When my parent's just married, before either I or my sisters were born, they drove to the seaside of Croatia, this would be in early 80s Yugoslavia or some time frame like this. They wanted to go to some island and book a hotel, if I remember right the island was Hvar. Hearing them talk the Croat receptionist at the hotel innocently asks: "Just out of curiosity where are you from?" When they tell him, his face changes slightly, and he passive aggressively responds "We have no rooms for you." Both were convinced it was because they were Serbs and they vowed to never go to Croatia again. And this was *before* the wars.

I can't imagine where you got this idea from. It is true that two Orthodox bishops worked at developing a writing system for southern Slavic. The second one by Methodius is the basis of all Cyrillic scripts, but no-one created languages unless you believe in gods. The Slavonic languages are just one of the branches of the Indo-European or Indo-Germanisch group of languages which include Old Iranian, Hittite and Sanskrit as well as the origins of the Germanic, Celtic and Romance languages. Hungarian is a distant cousin in the group that includeds Finnish and Estonian, but I don't think there are any other members unless they are somewhere in Siberia.

I guess Bulgarian, there are 3 groups: Eastern Slavic, Western Slavic and South Slavic. If you learn any language from each group it'll be easier to get another languages from same group.

Polish is stupidly hard to learn, they are only Slavic people i understand up to 10% or under.
Let us leave modern men to their ‘truths’ and let us only be concerned about one thing: to keep standing amid a world of ruins.

Yeah, learning Polish simultaneously made me understand Czech.
