As I live only 20kms away from the Black Forest I have visited this great region countless times. Each time I enjoy its beauty. That´s why I want to share some pics and videos with you and invite you to post videos and pics of the Black Forest.

Why is it called "Black" Forest? Makes it sound like it's a scary looking forest.

Alex Delarge, because it has almost exlusively dark needle trees and almost no open landscape. People started to settle in that dark and mysterious area very late. I will post more pics and videos where you can see that.

I had visited Villingen-Schwenningen, so I guess the parts that are closer to this.

We dinnered in a wooden restaurant in the Black Forest, drinking the ''black forest devil'' and eating until we explode

There are plans to create a national park "Blackforest North/Centre", because the northern and central Black Forest have almost no settlements and lots of beautiful nature with deep valleys, mystique forests, cold streams and lakes. Here are some pics of the typical landscape in the area that maybe will be a national park soon. It´s also the area where I love to hike.
