Yes, it hasn´t brought war, but only hatred. But it also didn´t prevent war. So all we are left with is that it brought hatred and an economic crisis - without bringing us a benefit.
Well... that certainly deserves a Nobel prize.

I think that the EU has the same effect as keeping a ball under water: when the hands are gone the ball will shoot up and you better make sure your face isn't in the way. The EU has done the same thing: frustrations, distrust and mutual hatreds (some new, some dating back to the Middle Ages or even Antiquity) have been building up all over Europe since the day it was born and when the EU collapses there will be hell to pay. Not because the EU fell apart but because it was created in the first place.

The EU didn't prevent war: in fact.. it's very existence sowed the seeds for a full-blown European conflict.

Officialy it says that NPP 2012 was awarded to EU "for over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human right in Europe."

They should have said "...human rights in EU." not Europe since they forgot that Balkans is in Europe too.
