Just to throw it out there; men rarely pay attention to these standards that these agencies set. So its safe to say that its good that Jodie Kidd got back to her normal weight. It looks like their too rigid with their criteria. She looks somewhat underweight for her body build overall in some photos.

With Velvet... I'm kind of shocked and flabbergasted how she started out and how she could get that big. Kind of amazing what some people will do sometimes.

Actually, women fashion designers are much more ruthless when it comes to models.

Sexuality has nothing to do with this, please refrain from your primitive ways of thinking. A model has to look as neutral as possible on the runway, possibly even invisible, as the garment is used to attract attention, not her beauty, curves or whatsoever attributes she has.

Ever asked yourself why there are high fashion models, swimsuit models, lingerie models and etc? A beautiful girl is much better off at doing swimsuit or catalogues because the overly skinny and freaky looking girls always book the high end shows.
