20 states petition to secede from the United States

According to the WhiteHouse web site at WhiteHouse.gov, by Monday morning, 20 states have begun petitions to the White House to secede from the nation since President Barack Obama was reelected on Nov. 6, 2012.

As viewed on the petitions page of the governmental web site, as of Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. CT, the following states have begun petitions and have received citizen signatures from each state.

Alabama has 4,933 signatures, Arkansas has 1,242, Colorado has 3,664, Florida has 4,854, Georgia has 3,840, Indiana has 3,800, Kentucky has 3,851, Louisiana has 7,358, Michigan has 3,014, Mississippi has 3,758, Missouri has 2,711, Montana has 3,321, New Jersey has 2,903, New York has 3,362, North Carolina has 4,474, North Dakota has 440, Oregon has 3,174, South Carolina has 3,120, Tennessee has 3,374, Texas has 17,436.

While there are different wordings of the various petitions most are simply worded in the same style as the most popular of the petitions which is Texas with its 17,436 signatures to date.

The state of Texas already has 47,000 votes for seceding and the petition was just put up a few days ago.

Well, it didn't work in 1860 and I doubt the outcome will be different in 1012,
BUT if they should succeed in seceding, I would move to one of those states, probably North Carolina .

Yep. Btw your map is incorrect, there is no way that South Carolina, North Carolina or Tennessee are going to be united with Yankees. It's not gonna happen! Those are hardcore Southern states. Kentucky will choose the South as well, so will Virginia.
