Is there any difference between different populations?

Africans tend to have maxillary prognathism due to a massive lower portion of the head. Caucasians and Asians can have both maxillary and mandibular prognathism. I think Asians however have a tendency towards mandibular prognathism as the lower portion of their skulls are not as large and forward projecting than Africans or Caucasians.

maxillary prognathism = retroprognathism, this feature is normal in and common in pure congoids while prognathism isn't so common in caucasoid, it was a a feature common in cromagnon

I think East Asian Mongoloids often have a slight overbite. You can see it quite a lot in films of Communist China in a few decades ago.

I think that these things can occur in any person with an upper and lower jaw, all racial tendencies aside. It's the luck of the genetic draw, really. Misaligned jaws/bites are deformities in many cases.

I agree, I have a slight overbite as two of my bottom teeth are very protruding and prevent my top jaw resting directly on top

Wouldn't that be an underbite? I have a slight overbite and didn't have braces to sort it out. It's not too bad though, but Mongoloids often have a very noticeable overbite.

Overbite gives the appearance of a weak chin, underbite of an over developed one.
Most people with an over or underbite only have a slight one. Extreme examples are fairly rare.

I still think overbite is more common in East Asian Mongoloids, then Caucasoids. Underbite seems most common in Negroids and Caucasiods.
