Are you Shy or Outgoing?

There's nothing bad with being shy and introverted imo, as long as it's your natural temperament, simply yourself. One doesn't have to force himself to be somebody that he is not, it just causes sufference, imo.
For exemple i'm very extroverted, but if one day i feel bored and moody, i stay on my own and am "anti-social"!

My profession requires moi to be outgoing. In my private life I prefer solitude. Don't like crowds and live far from the city. Not sure if I'm shy but I sure like the company of animals more than humans!

I'm not sure if that's shy or just sensible.

Introverted orginally but my ADHD makes me impulsive sometimes ,providing a pseudo-extrovert effect ,I m also an INFP ..I feel better alone ,crowds make me feel drained. But i m not shy,just prefer to be loner.

Depends on the surroundings. Im shy around shy people and outgoing among outgoing people.

I am introverted and most happy on my own.

My job requires me to have contact with people, but it is in an environment where I am in control and can limit the amount and type of interaction I have with others.

I prefer working night shift because there is nobody around that I need to speak to. Being a night owl, it works for me and the payment is more because nobody wants to work those hours.

I think it probably comes from my family. My grandmother was an only child. My mother is an only child. And so am I. When I was little I used to play for hours and hours on my own and kept myself busy. I grew up doing my own thing.

It is hard for me in social situations which I consider an uncontrolled environment because anything can happen and I cannot control the interaction. I am very uncomfortable around people I don't know and they can find me a bit off-putting.

I don't make a good friend because friendship is a two-way street. And I find it very draining.

Here on the internet is fine because I can choose who I want to speak to, which threads to part-take in and which not. And if I want to go offline right now, then there are no bad feelings from anyone. There are no demands made on me here.

I'm not shy, but i am introverted and it seems i'm fairly lazy socially as well .
I often don't mind talking to random people or doing things that shy people wouldn't a lot of the time, but most of the time i don't see the need/point to be outgoing in every situation.

Honestly, when i think about socialising or going out i know i'll enjoy it but my brain is there going 'Well you might as well not bother, it's just effort ya know?', so i'm like...'Meh'.

I'm rather introvert, I also used to be somewhat shy when I was younger. Though I have managed to become a bit more extrovert and outgoing with age.
