The school’s namesakes had expressed antisemitic and racist views

The San Diego Unified School Board voted Tuesday night to rename Lindbergh/Schweitzer Elementary because the school’s namesakes had expressed antisemitic and racist views.

The school of about 270 students founded in 1980 will be renamed Clairemont Canyons Academy, to reflect the geography surrounding the school in the Clairemont neighborhood.
