As far major North American burger chains go, my favorite is Five Guys. In second place, Hardees/Carl's Jr.

I only know McDonalds and when i go there (not often) i always ask for the same thing: double cheeseburger. So in my opinion the best burger is that one.
Other than that the best burgers i ate were on a plate, and belonged to a portuguese franchise:

Jack in the Box for convenience because it's cheap and open 24 hours. For taste Carls Jr or In n Out. Out of those choices I'd probably go with the baconator because McDonalds and Burger King are nasty.

In terms of meat burgers, I cannot stand processed ones. I'd much rather have a kebab such as a chaprikh kebab. It's flat and round, with a tomato slice embedded on top...

Ever tasted a Bøfsandwich? (literally translates to 'beef sandwich').
