Should Sicily receive independence from Italy and join with Malta?

How are Neapolitans embracing Spanish colonialism ? Elements in music perhaps a bit, I don't see more cultural similairities besides that.

The Neapolitan users here all seem to embrace Spanish people as their close kin. I would not want that sentiment spreading to Sicily and leading to a celebration of the colonial rule. It's because Naples was VERY well off under Spain, while the rest of the south was pushed to the back burner.

When I was in Mercato San Severino, a restaurant owner told me that his village/town was most influenced by the French.

Sicily is considered in Italy like a parasitic region, without Italy it will face an immediate economic failure. Then who would pay its local administration?
