    Autumn - Ruduo
    Winter - Žiema

    Autumn - Rudens
    Winter - Ziema

Baltic word for Winter is an obvious cognate to the Slavic and other Indo-European words (compare: Persian Zemesta) but it is curious that Baltic word for Summer is instead a cognate to Slavic word for Spring (''vesna").

Baltic word for Autumn is derived from PIE root for ''reddish brown colour'' while Slavic word for Autumn is derived from PIE root for ''blood''
