Just Joking, but I would say capitalism, cause in capitalism society is free to partially adopt even aspects of socialism. For example, in free market, collectivism is not prohibited, but in collectivism free market IS prohibited

Socialism. Success in a capitalist society largely relies on wealth from inheritance and networking. I'm a socialist society, everyone is given the equal means to succeed. Modern capitalists in America have such a narrow minded view and think that if your daddy isn't rich as theirs is, then you deserve to die if you cannot afford the health care you need. Capitalism has been running down small businesses too.

Not to mention the US media machine lied about him losing the first DNC debate to Hilldog when he clearly won. He'd make an excellent point, the crowd would stand up and cheer and clap loudly, and she'd stand up and interrupt and try to take the credit. I was thinking, "Sit the fuck down Hillary, they aren't clapping for you." If he had gotten even 1/5 of the media exposure she had, he would have won handily.

Inspired by this thread of VA, I decided to make a poll.

I realise that there are many different forms and grades of both poles -- so please feel free to elaborate your thoughts on this.

apitalism to win by a large margin in this poll, and am actually more interested in reading responding comments. I myself find merits in both, and would ideally like a balance which combines the best of both ideologies.

A mix of both systems. Actually, I think that social-democracy, the Scandinavian way, is the best compromise. And it's more efficient than the French model, where state has always been too much involved in all levels of economic development, since minister Jean-Baptiste Colbert in the 17th century, resulting in a sclerotic bureaucracy. Things run more smoothly in Scandinavia.

That's what French historian Fernand Braudel (1902-1985) wrote on the subject.

The companies only developed if the state did not intervene in the French fashion. If on the contrary a certain degree of economic freedom was the rule, capitalism moved in firmly and adapted itself to all administrative quirks and difficulties.

Braudel died to soon to witness the most incredible mutation of capitalism, successfully transplanted into a communist regime: the People's Republic of China is the best example.
