thank you.....My grandfather had dark brown hair unlike the people in these pictures. Surname is Powers....but I have met people who are irish with the same surname and many of them have red hair....strange hahaha. But my father is half french so it is of no shock he has brown hair/eyes [common in southern france]. My mothers father is a Sullivan and I believe came from either Tipperary or Cork....what do those people generally look like. He had a more Nordic look but that is probably because he was also part finnish-swede.

I'm sure they love you as well Jim.

I'm in Australia and both my daughter and me have been called redheads because we both have reddish brown hair but being Irish I wouldn't call us redheads even though we have the freckles. Half my family are redheads and they have real red hair. There aren't many true redheads in Australia.

My Family mainly come from county down, down Patrick, Belfast they had to move to England at the hight of the trouble's in the 80s, as my cousin was going to marry an English soldier, they all moved over night, the council put them all in a four bed house, 12 children and three adults, Catholic's so no birth control, they are typical Northern Irish although not a single red head amongst them,
however you can see the Celtic in all of them and now my cousins once removed.

I have been told it will take a further two or three generation's to breed into English....
Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems such as those connected with reality... Existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind and language... It strikes me as peculiar that most concern themselves solely with language, the least of all philosophies...

The Northern Irish situation was crazy but it is now mostly past. About 50% of my family are redheads and most of them are from my father's side who are West Irish. I've recently had my brother, daughter, myself and my mother's dna done on 23andMe. My mother is from Tipperary and she has dna from French/German which she passed on to me and my daughter. My father's grandmother had a Scot's origin name so possibly some overflow into Connacht from Ulster. The problem with Northern Ireland is mainly due with people wanting an United Ireland and people wanting to remain part of the UK. It really is a problem of colonialism; people that think there is a genetic difference between Ulster Scots and the Irish population are living in a fantasy world.
