Melonhead your post above comes off a bit deranged. How can someone born in Ireland with all Irish heritage not be Irish? I suppose someone like you who is an American mutt claims to be more Irish. Your idea that the Irish have all been replaced is like something out of the X Files. I'm interested in dna and have had myself and 3 members of my family's dna done. My brother is M222 which is as Irish as you can get.
You are coming across as NUTS. There is something not right about you. I know I'm Irish and what you have posted above is just ridiculous. My grandmother was a native Irish speaker from Roscommon and all our names are Irish except a Great Grandmother who had a Scottish name. Both my mother and father could speak Irish. My father spoke Connacht Gaelic and my mother spoke Munster Gaelic. You are an American and you are posting complete misinformation on the Irish.
I don't have an agenda but just don't believe your outdated spiel about the Irish being Basque. Go on to Anthrogenica and read some threads there. Lots of "real Irish" like myself on there. I don't post but read some of the threads by posters like Dubhthach. I would rather learn about Irish and their genetics from actual Irish people and not some American who posts about his huge IQ.
Agenda my arse. What a load of bollocks you've posted. So all English are Germanics and Irish are Basque. Well genetics doesn't agree with you but you think you know better. I'm Irish and you're not.
Here's a very good thread to read with a lot of discussion on the Origins of the Irish. "Need to justify my claims to be Irish" haha. Irish born with family all Irish. What a pathetically stupid statement Melonhead? I've lost any respect I might have had for you saying something like that. Do you claim everyone isn't their nationality.
I never said I was "Ulster Scots". I've only got a Great Grandmother who has a Scots name but she was Catholic. Lots of Irish people have Scots names for God's sake. I think you are forgetting I was actually born in Ireland!.
