He speaks the truth. I once did a little experiment and created a dating account with a few pictures of a woman who was 7/10. I got bombarded with messages, so much I couldn't even read them all. Then I made one with a good looking man (females consider him good looking, not me), I got like 3 messages in a week, compared to 150+ messages in 1 day on the females account. This game is rigged against us males. Not whining, just saying.

That's the problem. Too many men are chasing girls and contributing to the problem of stroking their ego's, creating more conceited girls who are fooled into believing they are complete 10/10. If a average looking girl gets hit on 100 times she will become conceited. The problem is the males of this world need to stop showering every average girl he sees with compliments. If they stopped, everything would turn around and it would be girls who are dying for attention from males and not the other way around.
I'd like to see the woman at least put in some effort, as pursuing women can become exhausting even for someone who looks like Brad Pitt or Ronaldo.
Male strategy = ask 100 girls, one of them is bound to say yes.
Female strategy = just sit there and look pretty, and watch all the boys flock around.

Because:
1) If he is good looking there are many possibilities that he is taken.
2) If he is not taken, he has more chances to meet REAL women, and not spend his time talking to virtual profiles (many of them being fake)
3) A good looking man, usually has self-confidence. In that case, he won't enter a dating website, he'll try his ''luck'' in reality.
After all those, if I ever entered a dating website and see such a profile I would think that he is either a fake profile or someone taken that just want to play/fuck around.

Depends on the country/city the person is living in.
Net dating is a popular way in Sweden for people to meet in does that mean it's only the "ugly" people who are meeting like this? No, Sweden is a big country with the population being well spread and making it harder for some to find a partner in their small town, or it could be a person is too shy, does that make him ugly? It's different cultures as well. Swedes are shy and cold by nature and not as open as meds so it probably is the way you are describing down there but up here certainly not.
