Same with Chechens.
Almost the entire Chechen fighting force was made up of freedom fighters. There was not a single soldier among them and none of them ever received or expected payment.
The warrior spirit is instilled and nurtured in us since birth and every civilian considers it his duty to protect his homeland when threatened.
