IMO the high abortion rates in Russia and Bulgaria could be due to:
1. People not being able to afford children.
2. Religion was weakened by communism, and abortion was seen as woman's right, reducing social stygma around it.
I think it was sort of a weird mix of social/family values, as I personally find divorce to be more shocking than abortion ....I find my views to be sort of shocking though...

Sweden performs 37,000 abortions each year, that's 1/3 of all live births...
We don't need big families, however, we will allow immigrants to offset the social crisis caused by this policy, that has last two decades ..

The graphic has one thing in common: Libertarianism. "First World" and Sovietoid countries, both groups flogged with feminist scourge, but with the latter winning by far as expected. Communism did a good job in telling people flesh is the same thing as meat unless it can be of any use to its sickening concept of society.
There's no need for any islamic womb-bomb with european societies comitting suicide this way. Funny how high "Human Development Index" goes hand in hand with Decline.
