Origins of the Liburnians?

Were the Liburnians of Illyrian or Venetic origin? Also, do modern Croatians have any Liburnian DNA in them?

That´s still under debate because Greeks ( Hellenes ) called Illyrians their northern neighbours. "Illyria proprie dicti" and the roman province Illyricum aren´t the same. Many scholars state that Liburni and Histri were, if not venetic, more similar to them than to southern Illyrians. Y-dna J2B2-L283 is associated with paleobalcan people ( Illyrians and others ); my grandfather comes from Krk, an island in north Croatia and my paternal dna is J2b2-L283, so I suppose it´s related to the Liburni who lived in the area. Modern Craotians are mostly I2a and R1a, J2 is found in small % and it´s very likely the remnant of the ancient paleobalcan DNA.
