Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia were ultimately just as tyrannical as each other. All the same, I essentially disagree with the premise of the OP, since there would be no democracy anywhere in Europe under such a scenario.

Soviet Russia was not as genocidal as Nazi Germany, or at least not towards Non-Russians.

Stalin killed more Russians than he killed Non-Russians, which makes Soviet rules a better scenario for Europe.
