Are Slavs a lost East Germanic Tribe like Goths, Burgundians and Vandals were?

Oh come on now, RussiaPrussia is just curious about his roots. Besides, if it wasn't for his inquisitive threads with different views on things, I'd and I'm sure quite a few others here, would be bored.

I admit i would like it to be like that so it would unite my ancestry. But i am kind of right slavic and germanic are so similar languages, much much similar than to romanic ones even if latin influenced germanic languages as the romans ruled over them and latin was the world language in the middle ages of europe, is slavic still closer to germanic.

And where were slavs before the huns and during the huns?? We know nothing about them in that period.

Slavic languages and slavs called slavs are only appearing in the history after gothic migration.
I think is pretty clear that goths migration played a great role in forming of slavic people.

The commonality would have been from a deep point in time but keep in mind they diverge partly due to the isogloss effect of "satemization" that effected Proto-Balto-Slavic probably around 1500-800 BC, but not Germanic.

The archaic dialectical commonality would go back to prehistoric times during the Corded Ware Culture c. 3200 BC or so. At them time, a nascent Proto-Indo-European language would have been spoken on the North and East European planes. But soon afterwards through gradual dialectal processes and isogloss, the nascent PIE unity would have broken up.
