Portugal would be a better fit.
1. Because Portugal was once part of Galicia.
2. They speak basically the same language. Centuries ago it was the same language.

Hombre, ya que cortas y pegas una cita famosa hazlo de una fuente fidedigna que no cometa faltas de ortografía garrafales. Desde un punto de vista externo, es decir como vemos los extranjeros a los españoles, déjenme les digo que esas ideas independentistas y de fragmentación de España nos suenan absurdas. España no podría ser entendida de otra forma mas que como está actualmente y toda sus grandes logros históricos los alcanzaron con una España unida.

Opina de lo que te salga de los percebes, si es que hay de eso en tu ciudad americana. Simplemente me parece risible.
