It is actually more suicidal. The middle picture is without doubt from the suicidal exodus from Messolongi:

You can see the original picture at the bottom right of the page. The Greeks besieged from the Ottoman army were running out of food and they decided a heroic exodus, but their plans were betrayed and they got massacred. It caused an uproar in Europe at the time.
I have the suspicion that the other pictures are connected to similar desperate attacks on the Turks that failed, mass suicides that were the choice instead of surrender as in the dance of Zalongo or the case of the Arkadi monasteri in Crete which was the epicenter of a rebellion, and when the Ottomans reached the monastery and besieged it, all the combatants were killed, while the head monk of the monastery and some women and children were hiding near a room where the gunpowder was stored. They had no choice but to die or surrender. The head monk waited for the Turks to arrive, and blew the whole place, taking all besieged and many more Turks to the grave with him.
