Very unlikely that cost England the game, England couldn't defend for shit that day and it always felt Germany were going to outscore them regardless.

Agreed, same as England vs Denmark. It was literally Schmeichel that stopped it being 3 or 4 or 5-1 (and only poor refereeing that gave them their goal to begin with). That's the point.

About potential earlier penalty on Kane - at first, it looked like a penalty to me (clear one) even though it was on very edge of the box (but I think still in as line is also counted as penalty box space). Danish player clearly stomped on Kane's foot. Than referee called foul for Danes which was confusing. However, in slow motion you could see that Kane did get in the body of Danish player before guy stomped on his foot.

So a tough call. And can't see how that can justify what happened later. In first extra time on end of first half, referee gave really lot more time to England than clock showed (they were in attack, but it looked like too much)

I'll be completely neutral in final btw. Let the better team win and hoping for great football without referee mistakes.

It's not about justifying a bad decision - it's pointing out the following:

Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. Normally it's both.

England got unlucky with one decision and lucky with another.

Spain were the better team for most of it but Italy are always good in tournament knock outs, bags of experience in closing out games, whatever it takes

Experience had nothing to do with the final result but just the lottery of penalties... and the Morata factor (who by the way is a very experienced player ).

I remember the Chelsea Barca game in 2009, thought VAR was supposed to sort all this out

I know you're autistic but try to show some self-awareness.

1) You have given over 800 thumbs down, you can't complain when other people do it
2) Given a thumbs-down isn't 'unfair.' I thought your comment was dumb so I thumbed it down, just like you've done over 800 times, except you're crying about it like a toddler.
3) Why would I be butthurt? We won. You're the one bawling about it.

I get the instinct to root for the underdogs but you don't have to cry about it when they lose. You're not even Danish. I didn't cry about it when Croatia lost to Spain. I wanted them to win but at the end of the day they weren't good enough and the better but unfortunately more dangerous team went through.

But I don't feel it dumb, I think it's a fair analysis of the game from neutral point of view. I think you're just very happy England is finally in big final and comments about robbery upset you because you think your teams deserved it (which I can understand, they had great tournament)

Because you compare free kick and penalty (in extra time, and VAR is never activated for free kicks). It's much harder to score from such free kick than from penalty.
