i have a special view. For me the death penalty should only be forced to crimes which hurt the society as a whole not personal affairs. I think a murder shouldnt face the death penalty since she or he hurt only the destiny of one person or family. Neither should rapists not even pedophiles because they hurt again the destiny of one person.
But a pimp, drug dealer and other horrible activities of organized crime which hurt society as a whole should face death. People just dont get what drug dealing and prostitution does for society. The people who need drugs are almost death and they will do all kind of things like robbery, violence and killing for having drugs. Both prostitution and drug addiction is the new slavery in 21st century its time to realize it. Prostitution is also just as bad, it helps to spread aids and the girls who suffer trough this will be mentally ill for their rest of live and wont probably have children and encourage other social instabilities for society.
Both forms are for me the new slavery, because the second people are obviously forced to do every thing as its obvious human slavery and the first people come into a situation to do such things because of their addiction.
So if a drug addict kills someone to rob his money for his heroin gets the death penalty but the drug dealer who sold the drugs promoting such cases get only 10-20 years in america.
The problem of our society is that we have this hierarchical system, we believe always that personal will is above everything else instead to think that some people will simple act that way because their in certain groups or soceities. Its the same people who argue that people are not born poor but have always the chance to become rich even if its impossible anymore since the social system is so different than in the past.
So responsibility is always on the people down, therefor we punish murders for killing one person harder than people who killed or at least ruined the lives of 1000s of people. Same way it is for war crimes, its the soldiers who get punished but not the people in charge who triggered it.
