I don't think either is. I'd rather say Central Europe is where it gets most complicated. There are so many various influences and with all the blending it's often just hard to tell the exact combinations.

Northern Europeans all look very similar to me. I think it's because I am more familiar with Southern Europeans though. If I were Northern European I would probably think the opposite.

They are all difficult to classify, but I'd say Northerners only because they have a more varied group of phenotypes( Brunn, Borreby, Nordid, East Baltid etc...). While Southerners are more or less uniformly dark despite phenotype differences ( Dinaro-Mediterranid, Atlanto-Mediterranid, Dinarid, West Mediterranid, Berid, etc...).
