My favourite song by Finnish gothic metal band H.I.M. Vocalist Ville Valo said his biggest inspiration and idol is Jim Morrison.
I love this track by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty) too.

The song relates to Jim thanking the city of L.A. for his time there before he moved to live in the artists and poets city of Paris. He saw the city of L.A. as feminine and being the personification of a female. Jim (a.k.a. 'The Lizard King' and 'Mr. Mojo Risin') sings 'Mr. Mojo Risin' several times around 5:02 in the video above of L.A. woman. Mr. Mojo Risin' is an anagram of Jim Morrison.
'I am the Lizard King;- I can do anything!' (A famous line from the end of the song 'Not To Touch The Earth' by The Doors.)

Yeah. I miss my younger years to be honest in regard of Doors , everythin was more simple in life, as said, I would place CD or USB with his songs, especially L.A. Woman, over and over again, some strange feeling while driving and that plays at night.
Then I would go to one rock-bar (my favorite), Jim's pictures all over the walls, also from Stones, Guns, Deep Purple etc..., sky was the limit rofl

'Cancel my subscription to the Resurrection,
Send my credentials to the House of Detention...
I got some friends inside.
The face in the mirror won't stop!
The girl in the window won't drop!
A feast of friends, "Alive!" she cried,
Waitin' for me outside...
Before I sink into the big sleep,
I want to hear, I want to hear,
The scream of the butterfly...
Come back baby, back into my arms.
We're gettin' tired of hangin' around,
Waitin' around with our heads to the ground,
I hear a very gentle sound,
Very near yet very far...
Very soft, yeah, very clear,
Come today, come today.
What have they done to the earth?
What have they done to our fair sister?
Ravaged and plundered and ripped her and bit her,
Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn,
And tied her with fences and dragged her down.
I hear a very gentle sound...
With your ear down to the ground,
We want the world and we want it...now!'
Top-class performance at 6am in the morning, live in Copenhagen, Denmark. 4:30 onwards...

Jim Morrison died before I was born, so I don't know how old you must be to miss them. The Doors haven't died as their music and poetry lives on. To live on in ones heart is not to die. 'Every day, a person somewhere is listening to The Doors for the first time as a new band and are getting their minds blown.'
When Jim asked The Doors guitarist Robby to write a song that future generations of people could relate to for an eternity, Robby decided to write about one of the four elements of nature;- earth, air, fire or water.... so he picked fire... and wrote 'Light My Fire.' That song never dies as people can relate to the flames of passion in life. You won't find anyone else like Jim or The Doors today.... although you can see young singers trying to impersonate Jim in The Doors tribute bands.
Jim studied books on demonology and existentialism at university as he was an avid reader, as well as fine poetry authors. He read the entire works of existentialist philosopher and Atheist Nietzsche at university.
He had a Celtic Witchcraft wedding and drank blood in a chalice as he was proud of his Celtic ancestry. He also had a fascination with Shaman Native Indians and would often dance on stage like Shamans and said the spirit of a dead Shaman entered his body as a child after he witnessed a road accident. 'Indians scattered on dawns highway bleeding... ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind.' The Lizard King.
Jim could sing very soft, deeply and sensually (he never sang a note out of key,) and then suddenly he'd hit the audiences like a tornado with unearthly dinosaur screams from the abyss... and would improvise a lot on stage during live performances with spoken poetry, changes in singing tones, etc.
'Jim Morrison;- prettier than Mick Jagger and more dangerous than Elvis.'
2:56
Jim left future generations with breathtaking books of poetry books that he authored (The Celebration of the Lizard King, The Lords and The New Creatures, etc,) movies he made, his beautiful spoken poetry, and 6 albums of artistically creative music combined with poetry, after he graduated from university. In his silent movie HWY (Highway) he plays a serial killer who comes down from the mountains to hitch rides on a highway. His life was short and he only had a few years in The Doors while he was touring, performing live, writing songs and poetry, etc... but he achieved more in his short life than what most artists can achieve in a lifetime. The Doors always took their inspiration from the dark and mysterious side of nature.
He remains as a legend and he's inspired many leading rock singers and artists. Johnny Depp read an audience some of Jim's poetry, supermodel Kate Moss danced on his grave in Paris as her tribute to Jim, (you can see videos on YT of people of all ages visiting his grave in recent years,) a movie was made about The Doors, and Axl Rose, Marilyn Manson, and Ville Valo are amongst the numerous artists who've stated that Jim is their biggest idol. He inspired rock singers to wear leather trousers like him. Lana del Ray has made songs about Jim Morrison.
A tear-jerker that leaves a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes upon hearing this.
Another tear jerker... it's difficult to not cry... it's very beautiful.
A quote by ultra liberal Jim who rebelled against wars and the government and the killing of Martin Luther King, etc. (Jim's middle-class father was a conservative Admiral in the US Navy who led and commanded the US navy against Vietnam.) The FBI opened a file against Jim before his mysterious and sudden death in Paris. The media were often biased against The Doors. They were banned from being allowed to perform at Woodstock. They were banned from being allowed to perform in 16 US states, and there was arrests of Jim on stage where he was led away in handcuffs. There were court charges against him in Miami, Florida, and the police and courts were against him at the tiime of his death. He was all for freedom.

A song that captures the free spirit of the 60's era.
'Wild child full of grace... saviour of the human race,
Natural child... terrible child...
Not your mother's or your father's child;-
You're our child! Screamin' wild!'
(That's a reference to Jim stating in interviews that each new generation divorces itself from their predecessors generations.)
'An ancient lunatic reigns in the trees of the night... ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
With hunger at her heels... freedom in her eyes...
She dances on her knees.... pirate prince at her side...
... staring into... the hollow idols eyes.'
'Wild child, full of grace... saviour of the human race!
Your cool face! Remember when we were in Africa?!'
