They're very beautiful. They look just like western Sicilians (Palermo, Trapani, and Agrigento).

The Word " Nisa " is close to the arabic word " Nisaa/نساء " which means " Women ".

Sicilians call their province Caltanissetta "Nissa" too.. it was named قلعة النساء Qal‘at al-Nisā’ by Arabs.

We already spoke about Maltese being an imposed language by the Arab scum and we're speaking it just because of Scholars of the 20th Century insisted on making it our official language. Stick to the topic or fuck off.

What language was spoken in Malta prior to that? Latin? Greek? It couldn't have been Phoenician, which was already long extinct.

I don't know how the pre-historic people talked here, but the earliest language spoken is indeed known to be Phoenician, Roman..I don't know if the common people spoke it. Then came Sicilian-Arabic naturally, then the Normans/Feudal ages followed by the Knights and many centuries of heavy Latinization of the Language, that's pretty much how Maltese formed. Now, the fact that people are talking Maltese today as a written and learned language is because of scholars in the 20th Century. We could have been easily talking Italian instead today.
