Estonia has no future, so majority just learn some valueable language / basic knowledge and leave country. Baluarte gf is common example, she is very rational and wise. Why bother to learn useless language? Estonian has no use outside Estonia. Estonians know language only because parents taught. Im pretty sure even native estonians wouldnot bother to learn state language if they were not speaking it from nearly birthday. Same applies on other baltic languages

You do NEED to learn the language of the country you are living in your whole life, anything else are just lame excuses! I am sick of the world allowing this kind of treatment. The fact that people think that there is no "need" because Estonians will just have to keep crawling at the feet of immigrant Russians and keep giving them excuses of being incompetent is sickening and the real root of many of the problems. Maybe you have also noticed how baluarte has suggested making Russian an official language? This attitude will no longer be tolerated!

You clearly dont read any of the replies. I said its not about what happen but about the present!! You go worry about your own regions problems instead of sticking your nose into others business, which you clearly dont understand quite well either. Why bother to learn useless language?

That you should ask from the thousands of non-estonians learning estonian language outside of Estonia.

While that might be the way with russians, that is not the way with estonians.
Estonians learn foreign languages and ALSO KEEP their own language in their native land. Have done so for millennia.
