If they pay taxes, they consider Bulgaria as their country, so learn Bulgarian. If you want to learn Turkish, go back to Turkey where they teach Turkish. You can't go to a foreign country and demand them to teach their language for them, have some shame at least.

I very much Turks would, or even could, impose Turkish on ethnic Bulgarians. It's likely Twitch is making shit up or at least distorting their demands.

Modern Bulgaria... But that land belongs to Bulgars even before "Modern Bulgaria." It is Bulgarian land and they fought for it... Against Turks actually... And now, they are supposed to teach their enemies' language in their schools? To their children? If I was a Bulgar in Bulgaria today, I would not let my children go to school to learn Turkish...

Is this only for ethnic Turkish areas or throughout Bulgaria? If it's just for Turkish areas, then it is appropriate. Bulgaria likes to the in the EU. It should act European.

It's not about Turkish areas and it's not intended to become mandatory for ethnic Bulgarian pupils. What they want is to just make studying Turkish compulsory for ethnic Turkish students, because now it si voluntary and not all take those classes, hence they are concerned that some kind of language attrition might occur in the long run.
