Pretty balanced views. I thought people in the UK were usually quite nuts politically, honestly, for a long time. I still think a good many are (but it is the same in the US). You are a balanced guy overall. My opinion on homosexuality is very complex... And I have many friends who are Homosexual... yet I do not think a church should be forced to marry a gay couple... many churches will though, just pick one of them. It is different when someone is, say, selling bagels... If you do not sell homosexuals bagels, your business is PRETTY corrupt. A church is not just some BUSINESS, you know? It is a congregation and religious community. The church should reach out to homosexuals just as they do with other people that do not like their belief system too, though, if they do reach out to any extent.

Why not? Most people Christians witness to are not aligned with the rest of their beliefs, so why not accept homosexuals too?

I concur. The state should offer gay marriage; Churches should be (and are) allowed to choose. Personally I would prefer mine married gays and welcomed them into the fold, but that's not relevant to my political opinion.

If you're going to draw the line somewhere, why before homosexuality? Why not after? Why before extramarital sex? Etcetera. Allowing homosexuality would personally placate 10% of the population and bring nothing but joy to people. Allowing bestiality would bring nothing but joy to Wales, New Zealand and the rest of the third world (just kidding, Wales is great). What's your problem with it, apart from your slippery-slope argument, objectively, even as a hobby?

But for some people, homosexuality inspires a wide array of emotional response. Anywhere from irrational hatred and fear to wanting them as accessories and even wanting to emulate them...

Damn, I really get irritated at this. People find homosexuality disgusting while its something really normal if you think about it. gays/lesbians love their same gender. How can that be ''disgusting?'' Mothers, fathers abandon their children because of this. Isn't it sad?
