    The Lithuanian/Latvian languages retain the archaic -is -as endings for names that were common in the Ancient Greek and Thracian languages. The Lithuanians/Latvians are closest descendants of the Thracians.

    I tried to find a you tube video in Sanskrit that sounds somewhat similar to Greek but all of a sudden they don't sound familiar at all. So maybe it was some other Indian dialect I heard

    Sanskrit is no longer spoken natively. But it is the origin of many Indo-Iranian languages including Gypsy.

    What he meant is that we both have strong accent when we try to speak English, so we sound similar in a way (because of our strong r maybe)

    Interesting, I didn't know that. Sankskrit must be the 'mother' of all Indian dialects then.
