Is it true what people say; that ''Italian culture'' has died out for most part in the U.S.A ?

    Yes and no.

There aren't as many immigrants from Italy now as there were 100 years ago.

Once a family becomes more Americanized (ie. wealthier, start associating with regular Americans, etc) they tend to move outside of Italian ethnic enclaves and their kids become less culturally aware.

The poorer ones who remain in Italian neighborhoods are often as proud of their ancestry and defensive of their culture as their immigrant ancestors were.

My own family has been in the USA less than most Italian-American families, and yet I still have family all over the USA (and Argentina, which came first).

It depends on the dialect spoken. Gheg can sound quite harsh but Tosk is soft and similar to Romance languages. Dialect can change our perception drastically. What I have noticed is that the least pleasant-sounding languages seem to have more substance.
    Does Greek have dialects?

Is it true that some boroughs in New York, like Brooklyn for example were inhabited by Italians from a specific region, or were most boroughs more or less mixed with Italians from all regions ?
